Robert H. Lux, Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of Temple University Health System, Named One of Top “Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know”

Robert H. Lux, CPA, FHFMA, Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of Temple University Health System, has been named one of this year’s top “150 Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know” by Becker’s Hospital Review. The CFOs included on this list lead financial departments for some of the most prominent for-profit and nonprofit hospitals and health systems in the country and play an integral role in their organization’s strategic planning, growth and transactions. These CFOs have been nominated by their peers and are tasked with helping their organizations navigate the challenges in healthcare today.

Lux has served as senior vice president and CFO at Temple since July 1996. He is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, cash and debt management, payroll, managed care contracting, information services & technology, revenue cycle, supply chain, financial planning, decision support and investment management for the $2.1 billion dollar academic Health System. Lux has also served as an assistant controller, controller, and associate vice president and CFO of Temple University Hospital.

Lux is a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and a member of the American Institute and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Finance Committee of Health Partners Plans of Philadelphia, a 257,000 member Health Maintenance Organization; a member of the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania’s statewide committee on public payer policy; and Council President of the Cradle of Liberty Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Lux earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from LaSalle University in Philadelphia and has been at Temple since 1981.
