Palliative Care

Palliative Care

Temple University Hospital's Palliative Care Program provides patients and families with advice on treatment, guidance through hard medical decisions, and support and comfort.

The palliative care team consists of doctors, a nurse practitioner, a social worker and a chaplain. The team's goal is to control symptoms, relieve pain, and provide understandable information so that patients and families can make informed choices about care.

The Temple Palliative Care Program provides services to all inpatient hospital departments and is available for all patients no matter the stage of their illness. The program also assists physicians who require support when discussing difficult situations with patients and families.
